Work load balance achieved for our Flying Fijians
Fiji Airways Flying Fijians coach John McKee is impressed with the intensity of training this week as the outfit prepare for the match against Maori All Blacks at Suva’s ANZ Stadium on Saturday.
McKee said “The players have been showed vast improvement in-terms of their fitness and game understanding.”
“It has been interesting planning across the week and balancing the work load we need, to get through to get our game plan and our fitness levels ready for Rugby World Cup.
“We have also ensured that they players are prepared and fresh for the match this weekend against Maori All Blacks.”
“After a few tough days in camp the players have had training free day in order re-energise for a full hard training day tomorrow.
“Yesterday we had big tasks to work through in the gym and in the units.
“We also had like a very fast and sharp team session yesterday afternoon.
“There were couple of early morning session todays with some physical work and then just some more clarity to top up on our game,” McKee revealed.
“This evening we will re-group at our team meeting and lotu before dinner in preparation for tomorrow’s training day.”
Fiji Airways Flying Fijians last played the Maori All Black in 2015 where they lost 27-26.
McKee said they are coming in with a well prepared team consisting of players who have had a lot of game time recently.
“We have looked at the MAB team and we see a strong play list.
“They’re all coming out of Super Ruby so we know they are really match fit and we expect quite an up tempo energetic game,” he added.
McKee will name his run on team for the match against Maori All Blacks tomorrow. They face each other at 3.00pm {FJT} on Saturday.
