Women’s 10 Festival up in North

Women in North will have alot to showcase as Fiji Rugby’s Development Unit will be hosting their first 10’s Festival at Subrail Park in Labasa on Monday.

Team from Bua, Cakaudrove, Macuata and Taveuni will be taking part in a days competition.

National Development Manager Koli Sewabu said there are a few reason they have decided to take the 10’s competition to different regions.

“We are looking at the development of womens game in Fiji.

It’s growing at a tremoundus rate and its exciting to see the talents that already been showcased in our Skipper Cup and Vodafone Vanua Championship” said Sewabu.

He is expecting alot of talents to be showcased after Macuata’s recent wiin in the Vodafone Vanua Championship last weekend.

Sewabu added Fijiana Coach Senirusi Seruvakula will also be part of the one day festival where he will be picking at few players to join his extended squad which was annouced yesterday.

“The other reason is to raise the profile of players in the North and give our new Fijiana 15’s Coach Senirusi Seruvakula an opportunity to identify more talents within each of the reason” said Sewabu.

He said they will also be hosting the 10’s festival in few other regions.

“We have five regions.

Region one is obviously North and then Friday next week is the mixture of regions two and five” he said.
