Window open for new Commercial Partners
It’s an incredible time for the business of sport and rugby in Fiji and today Fiji Rugby revealed a limited number of opportunities available for corporate organisations to join the team in perfect time.
At the announcement of sportswear manufacturer BLK’s new partnership with domestic rugby, General Manager of Commercial Mr Brian Thorburn said the time is now for smart businesses to join forces with rugby.
“Fiji Rugby’s inclusion onto the World Rugby Council, our thriving national teams, expanding grass roots rugby and the global prospects of the HSBC Sevens and World Rugby expansion plans point to exciting and propserous times ahead with genuine business opportunities for smart investors.” he said.
“Fiji Rugby currently has an outstanding family of loyal and supportive partners who are key players in driving the Union’s success, and we hope more organisations can see the potential that is ahead and join the team.”
One of the Union’s driving commitments is to not only support the national teams to propel to the highest ranks on the world stage, but to also ensure the game of rugby is acccessible to all Fijians who wish to play, and that commitment requires significant resource.
Many of Fiji’s top organisations are already significantly invested into the Fiji Rugby vision including Fiji Airways, Vodafone Fiji, CJ Patel, Swire Shipping, Fiji Water, ISC, Paradise Beverages, Carpenters Motors, Tappoo, BLK, Fiji Sun, Communications Fiji Ltd, Gilbert, TFL and FBC., however Thorburn reveals there is space for new team members.
“With the Rugby World Cup and Olympic Games just around the corner, defence of the National Rugby Championship on the doorstep and many more exciting initiatives on the horizon, we’re pleased to advise that there is room on the team for those organisations passionate about success, prosperity and Fiji.”
There are two key properties available for investors alongside a limited number of category partnerships for negotitation. The major properties are naming rights partner of the beloved Farebrother Cup; and the naming rights to the Women’s Vanua Championship.
“Those two key properties are extremely valuable and provide genuine business prospects for the right investor.”
“ As many will know, the Farebrother Cup with it’s rich history and passionate allegiance to provincial rugby is one of the most revered titles in the game and the Women’s Vanua Championship has already seen remarkable growth in what World Rugby are heralding the largest target growth area for the game globally.”
Much of the development and prosperity in the business has been a result of Fiji Rugby boards’ deliberate directive to improve the commercial activities and professionalism of the Union, with positive changes already being appreciated within the marketplace.
“Today we welcomed BLK back into the partner family, another one of Fiji’s great organisations who recognise the unmistakable value alignment with rugby in this region brings to their business.”
