Voka: Concentrate and Go Hard Drua

Go hard, play physical and concentrate are the key messages from Fiji Airways Drua Captain Mosese Voka to his team ahead of today’s round four NRC match against the Sydney Rays at Concord Oval, Sydney.

Kicking off at 3pm local time, 5pm Sydney time, the match will be celebrated at Pasifika Round for the entire competition and a strong Fijian contingent in the stand may be the boost the team needs  to maintain that concentration Voka is asking for.

“We can’t afford to lose concentration, we have to adapt our game style to the opposition and be physical in every area of the game.”  he said.

“This week we’ve had better training efforts and we know this is a must win for the boys.”

The Sydney Rays will be no push over as the side, tagged with some of the best Club rugby players in Sydney and the Captain knows they’ll be anxious to defend their home turf and score a valuable first win of the season.

“Sydney are a good side, they have a big pack up front and will be a physical challenge.”

“We just need to concentrate on our game plan and work hard in attack and defence.”

Today’s game will see a new look backline for the Drua which Voka says the boys have adapted to smoothly.

“We have good depth in our side and the boys are all ready to play, this line have a good understanding and they believe in themselves and are looking forward to the game.”

Against QLD Country the Drua backline were squeezed of any space, quietening the impact of Flying Fijian Alivereti Veitokani an instrumental influence for the teams attack and Voka says the team has taken responsibility to counteract any blockages shoul Sydney try the same.

“It’s up to our fowards to go hard and be physical on the inside, so we can create the space out wide for our backs.”

“Keeping possession and being discipline in our efforts, teh rucks particularly will be important to allowing us to play the game we want to play.”

The Fiji Airways Drua game against Sydney Rays can be seen on Sky Pacific from 5pm Fiji time.
