Try Play Stay
Rugby is a truly global game that offers many opportunities for any person large or small, timid or bold, young or getting into the twilight years – no matter what, there’s a place for everyone in rugby.
Fiji Rugby Development is the home base of grassroots participation and community rugby. If you’re looking to play, officiate, coach or volunteer in any capacity, it all starts here.
PLAY THE GAME
There are many ways to join in and play the game of rugby in Fiji.
Check out the World Rugby affiliated GET INTO RUGBY programme,
The aim of the programme is to encourage players of all ages to Try, Play and Stay in Rugby. Get Into Rugby promotes the values of the Game and ensures children are encouraged to try Rugby in a safe and progressive environment.
Or there is the innovative new QUICK RIP programme a fast, non-contact, flag version of rugby introducing a healthy lifestyle and balance training schedule to its participants, especially young adults from 14 – 19 years.
Fiji Rugby has a dedicated WOMEN’S Development team working to empower the growth and pathway aspirations for those women looking to our actively participating in rugby.
OFFICIATE THE GAME
For those wanting a position in the game away from the 15 on field, getting involved in match officiating is a great option. Rugby has a variety of different roles for staying indirectly in the action.
Fiji Rugby are regularly hosting accredited courses for match officials, match managers, match commissioners, team managers, volunteers and more.
To learn more about becoming a referee, side line match official, match manager, team manager or more, head to our OFFICIATE page or get in touch with our National Development Manager Koli Sewabu koli.sewabu@fijirugby.net .
COACH DEVELOPMENT
We believe coaches from grassroots right through to the elite are what keep the game of rugby alive and thriving and as such we are passionate about the development and growth of rugby coaches across Fiji.
Fiji Rugby Development’s objective is to provide all coaches with access to World Rugby accreditation and to provide mentoring and pathway development to fulfil their individual aspirations. Also to ensure every player in the nation has access to try, play and stay in the game under quality coaching.
Check out our COACH page to learn more about the Coach Accreditation programme and pathway including upcoming courses and resources.
