Tough Final at Singapore 7s.
Fiji Airways Fijian 7s went down to South Africa in an epic final at Singapore 7s which could have claimed them another back to back win.
The boys started the first half on a high note dominating possession and putting all the pressure on the Blitzbok.
They executed well and winger Aminiasi Tuimaba was on fire crossing over the try line for their first try of the final before Napolioni Ratu and playmaker Vilimoni Botitu added to the scoreboard.
Fiji was Leading South Africa 19-0 before the biltzboks responded with a try from youngster Kurt Lee Arendse and player of the final Angelo Davids. Just before another try coming from Ryan Oosthuizen narrowing the gap to 2 points 19-17.
It was a tight game and one of the most amazing comeback finals of the series when Playmaker Selvyn Davids kicked the winning penalty which claimed them the Singapore 7s title.
At the end of the Singapore leg Fiji now on 142 points has narrow down the gap (3 points) on the series leader USA 145 while New Zealand remain in third place (130) and South Africa with 121 points sitting at fourth place.
All teams now have 5 weeks to prepare for the last two HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series which is London 7s on 25-26 May before the series reaches its conclusion in Paris, the weekend after.
