Telecom Fiji Warriors Return Home

The Telecom Fiji Warriors arrived home last week with their spoils from their successful tour in Uruguay.

The side won two matches against Uruguay and one against Argentina.

While it was a successful tour, TELECOM Fiji Warriors coach Senirusi Seruvakula says that these tours are good exposure for the local players who are involved in the provincial competition here in Fiji.

“Travelling to South America can be costly, but tours to New Zealand or Australia would be more viable in terms of expenses”.

“These tours are an advantage because we are able to gauge the standard of rugby that we play in Fiji compared to overseas. Because the next step for the Warriors is the Flying Fijians so they need to be exposed to intense competition to prepare them for the Flying Fijians.”

The Warriors defeated Uruguay 30-22 in the first match, Argentina Pampas 23-21 in the second game and Uruguay 42-22 in the final fixture.
