Tavua Muslim (GIR)
Tavua Muslim is the latest school to be introduced to the Get into Rugby (GiR) program by the Fiji Rugby Union’s Development Unit.
FRU Development Officer, Joeli Tubu with the approval of the school, paid them a visit and took the kids through the program which included Tag Rugby.
He also conducted a Coaching Clinic for the U13 and U14 children to assist them with preparations for the Western side competition.
A total number of 88 girls, 91 boys, and 9 teachers, 5 of which were female, participated in the program.
The school principal thanked the FRU for their assistance in helping the children prepare for the GiR Festival scheduled for later this year.
They were thankful for the new skills that they learnt because currently there are no Fijian teachers at the school. But they have stressed that this will not deter them from preparing well for the festival.
