Suva vs Namosi- Match Report
The Skipper Cup round 7 match between Suva and Namosi was an entertaining display of rugby as the two sides showcased some thrilling 80 minutes of rugby.
Namosi build the momentum early as they manage to pile pressure onto Suva, within the capital sides 22 with an overlap out wide they shift the play with quick hands leading to their first try on the sixth minutes from Kalaveti Ravouvou.
Suva replied with a try right under the post as their forwards went to work picking and drive forward gaining meters as James Brown found a gap to score their first try on the 11 minutes as Vularika slotted in the 2 pointer.
After a prolonged period of possession and attack by the capital side, Kalaveti Ravouvou intercepted an open play from Suva running straight right under the post to score their second try before Veitokani added the extra two.
On the 25 minutes, Taniela Sadrugu burst his way through Namosi defenders to score their second as Vularika added another 2 points.
A clean break from Vularika with full support play from the Suva players delivering the ball out wide to Fijian 7s powerhouse Derenalagi as he runs in to score their 3rd try.
Suva won a penalty on the 36 minutes and Vularika slotted it over to extend their lead 22 – 12.
Coming into the second spell Suva was more structured and swift with their ball play which saw an overlap out wide as Leone Nawai runs in for another try in the 56 minutes.
Setareki Raoba run in for another try on the 67 minutes further extending their lead 32 – 12.
Fast handling from Suva caused chaos for the Namosi defenders and leaves an overlap out wide as Apisalome Vota runs in for another try right in the dying minutes scoring the final point of the match 37 – 12.
Suva will host Nadroga on the 8th round of Skipper Cup next weekend at ANZ, Stadium as Namosi takes on Tailevu at Ratu Cakobau Park, Nausori.
