Suva remain unbeaten.
The Suva Rugby side has booked a place in the Skipper Cup semi-final after securing its sixth straight win thumping Rewa 43-17 in the sixth round over the weekend.
The capital city side has been in an impressive form and are set to host the semi-final after the last round of games this weekend.
Suva has 28 points and sits well ahead of second placed Naitasiri which has 23 points. Nadroga and Nadi have 20 points each.
Suva Assistant Coach Solomone Nute said their main focus is to maintain the unbeaten run in the Skipper Cup.
“I thank the players for the win, they really played well. The game against Rewa is a history and we will go back look at our weakness plus work on it and improve in our next outing.”
Nute emphasized that they will be also focusing on the semifinals as they’ll probably be preparing for a tough encounter.
“We’re preparing for a tough encounter come the semifinals, we’re really preparing the players towards it. We will not take any team lightly that comes our way in the semi-final.”
This week will be the last round (Round 7) of Skipper Cup to determine the other top three teams that qualifies for the Semis.
After round six, Nadroga has moved up to third place after a bonus point victory over Tailevu whereas Nadi went down to fourth after losing to Namosi.
In an exciting final round, Nadroga takes on Rewa, Tailevu faces Naitasiri, Suva meets Nadi and Northland battles it out against Namosi.
