Skipper Cup hype builds up
After an exciting last round of games, Suva topped the Skipper Cup table in the senior division and has booked a home semifinal against at Ratu Cakobau Park on Saturday.
Suva finished undefeated after seven matches with 33 points, Nadroga second with 25 points, Naitasiri is in third place with 23 points while Nadi ended up in fourth position with 20 points.
It’s expected to be a mouthwatering in the semifinals when Suva faces Nadi at Ratu Cakobau Park and Nadroga battles it out against Naitasiri at Lawaqa Park. Both matches begin at 3pm on Saturday.
Northland and Rewa have automatically been demoted to the Vodafone Vanua Championship after a bottom two finish on the table.
Northland has 11 points and has been edged by Tailevu on points for while Rewa has finished last on the standings with seven points.
It will also be an exciting clash in the womens division semifinal when Naitasiri faces Nadroga at Lawaqa Park while Tailevu meets Suva at Ratu Cakobau Park.
In the Under-19 category Naitasiri meets Nadi at Lawaqa Park while Nadroga faces Suva at Ratu Cakobau Park on Saturday.
The Vodafone Vanua Championship is also turning to be an interesting one as two finalists will be promoted to the Skipper Cup next season.
Lautoka and Yasawa have qualified from the Senior Western zone while Ovalau and Nanukuloa have made it into the semifinal from the Senior Eastern Zone.
