Region 5 Development Unit Update.

It was a good week working with the Nadi U20’s on areas that they were penalized on during their match against Tailevu the previous week. It was a good session with coach Cowan Politini who was uncertain on the laws in some of the areas during play. The Coaches and players are working closely together with the Match Officials in a way to move Rugby forward here in Fiji.

At times it seems that the coaches and referees don’t work together which we have managed to sort out. Once the two parties start working together we will then see trends that will upskill every stakeholder for the betterment of our Rugby.

We also visited the schools and introduced GiR (Get into Rugby) to encourage mass participation not only for boys but girls also. There is so much raw talent out there that needs to be tapped on.

Our visit to the Nadroga teachers was to tap into the development pathway and assisting the teachers to know the importance of understanding the laws of the game so that this can be passed to the students.
