Provincial rugby competitions match results.

Acknowledging the major sponsors, Royal Tea for sponsoring the  Ranadi Cup and Vodafone Fiji for the Vanua Championship going on to its third round in the Tier 2 competitions.

 

In the Premier division, the ANZ Marama continues to build uprising rugby stars  while Skipper maintains its consistency in developing and grooming better teams and players on our shores for brighter and successful future in rugby for local players.

 

Our women’s rugby competitions are making alot of noise in the Ranadi and Marana as the development of women’s rugby continues to grow.

 

However, the highlight of the day  was the Farebrother battle between Naitasiri and  Northland. 

 

Naitasiri managed to hold their fort to the final whistle as they edged the young and  bold Northland team 10-6 to the fulltime whistle.

 

Both sides were locked at 3-all at the halftime break.

 

In other results in the Skipper Cup competition,  Suva defeated Nadroga on Friday at Lawaqa Park 26-19, Nadi defeated Rewa 25-12 at Burebasaga School ground and Tailevu held Namosi at Thomson Park in Navua 15-all.

 

In other grades; Suva 10-0 Nadro (Dev), Nadroga 17-0 Suva (U19). Naitaisiri 24-7 Northland(U19), Namosi 23-17 Tailevu (U19), Nadi 23-14 Rewa (U19), Naitasiri 25-22 Northalnd (Dev), Nadi 25-12 Rewa (Dev), Namosi 10-5 Tailevu (Dev).

 

In the ANZ Marama Championship; Suva 25-21 Nadroga (Senior) Suva 36-7 Nadroga (U19). Naitasiri 12-0 Lautoka (U19), Naitasiri 15-12 Lautoka (Senior). Yasawa 19-0 Nadi (U19), Yasawa 23-15 Nadi (Senior). Tailevu 12-5 Namosi (U19),

 Namosi 33-21 Tailevu (Senior).

 

In the Ranadi Cup;  Ba 22-35 Malolo, Nasinu 40-10 Northern Bulls, Navosa 64-22 Serua, Nanukuloa 44-0 Ra, Ovalau 27-24 Northland, Tavua 36-24 Vatukoula, Bua 10-36 Rewa, Macuata 51-7 Cakaudrove.

A much anticipated battle next weekend as the Premier division goes into round 9 and the Tier Two competition goes into round four.

 

The highlight for next week will be the Farebrother Sullilvan Trophy challenge between the title holders Naitasiri and the challengers Nadi.
