Prime Minister Rabuka: Well Wishes to the FIJI Water Flying Fijians

The FIJI Water Flying Fijians have named a strong side that will take on Georgia in their 3rd pool match of the Rugby World Cup (RWC) this weekend in Stade de Bordeaux, France, with only two changes to the team that shocked the rugby fraternity by defeating Australia which counted as our 3rd win against a tier 1 nation within a few weeks.

As a former rugby player that has proudly represented Fiji in the white jumper, and Head of Government, Prime Minister Rabuka extended his well wishes to our RWC team as they prepare for their next match that will take place on Sunday morning at 3.45am.

In a message that was conveyed to Rugby House, PM Rabuka said: “Please send my words of encouragement to our FIJI Water Flying Fijians Champs playing in France and remind them of the importance of playing with the spirit of Victory and scoring maximum points.”

“I will not be able to watch the game against Georgia because I will be on a flight between LA and Nadi,” he added.

Having the honour of representing Fiji at the international stage, the Honourable PM knows the weight of hope and faith placed by the country, the team management and all Fijians, on the players to deliver in each game. There are high expectations from all Fijians who cheer on our gladiators who don the white jumper that has the iconic palm tree embroidered onto the left chest of the players jersey.

Fiji are currently in 2nd place in Pool C of the RWC, and need to win convincingly in their last two games against Georgia and  Portugal with bonus points and maximum points to comfortably secure a spot in the quarter-finals of this year’s event.
