Nadroga dominates Yasawa in round 6
Nadroga dominated Yasawa 33 – 13 earlier today in their round 6 clash at Lawaqa Park, Sigatoka.
The stallions build the momentum early in the first half dominating almost all areas of play. Yasawa struggles to counter the swift attack from Nadroga as the stallions were very structured and kept the ball flowing throughout the game.
Five minutes into the first half Fijian 7s powerhouse Sevuloni Mocenacagi cross the try line to put Nadroga up in the scoreboard before Joseva Kuricuva added the extra 2 points giving Nadroga a 7 points lead.
Joseva Kuricuva made a clean break and ran straight for the try line on the 18 minutes to score their second before converting his try.
The fast-play from Nadroga caused chaos for the marlins defense as Jiuta Lutumailagi ran in for Nadroga’s third try while Kuricuva slotted the conversion in 21 – 0.
Kuricuva was an x-factor in the match, exploiting Yasawa’s defense line and found a gap to run straight for the try line to extend their lead 28 – 0.
Right before halftime Yasawa responded with a strong pick and drive from the forwards and lock Kitione Salawa drove his way on to the try line putting them up on the scoreboard 28 – 5 before going into the break.
