Army crowned 2019 Sukuna Bowl Champs

Republic of Fiji Military Force has claimed the 2019 Ratu Sukuna Bowl after defeating Police 20-17 in an intense encounter at ANZ Stadium in Suva.

Army build the momentum early putting pressure on the Police and forcing errors from the defending champions.

First point came in from a penalty conversion from the boots of Army fullback Jeke Suguturaga, followed by two tries from Vesi Rarawa and Levani Kurumudu as Army led Police 17-3.

Coming into the second spell and Police started off strong scoring two tries through Sireli Kaloucava and a last minute try from Ratu Inoke Ravuiwasa to close the gap 20-17, but fell short as the fulltime hooter blew their chance of retaining the title.
