Kokomo Resorts Pte Limited Boosts Fiji Rugby with $100K Charitable Donation
The Fiji Rugby Football Union Trust Board, a charitable trust, received timely boost with a $100K cash donation by Kokomo Resorts Pte Limited.
As a charity, Fiji Rugby funds its operations from Government and World Rugby grants, corporate sponsorships, and donations from companies and entities exercising excellence in corporate social responsibility.
Director Fiji Operations, Kokomo Fiji, Shyamal Singh handed over the cash cheque for $100K to Fiji Rugby Interim Administrator Simione Valenitabua at half-time during the final INKK Farebrother Challenge 2023 between Nadi and Nadroga.
“Kokomo wanted to give back to Fiji through rugby union. We understand the struggles Fiji Rugby faces in organizing international and more importantly, domestic competitions. We are certain that this donation will assist Fiji Rugby walk with a spring in its steps,” said Singh
Fiji Rugby interim Administrator Simione Valenitabua expressed gratitude for the kind gesture by Kokomo. “This donation towards Fiji Rugby as a charitable trust is the second of its kind since the interim trustees took office. Firstly, it was Merchant Finance and now Kokomo. Normally, business houses sponsored Fiji Rugby and negotiated certain rights to the jerseys, shorts, or rugby balls. However, to donate without any quid pro quo, Merchant and Kokomo have paved the way for other entities to assist our charity at Fiji Rugby. For that, we are thankful,” Valenitabua said
“Charitable organisations such as the Fiji Rugby Football Union Trust Board need financial support from donors to assist standing sponsors, in funding our games. I’m calling on individuals, businesses, and corporations to assist Fiji Rugby by donating like Kokomo for the development and betterment of rugby in Fiji,” Valenitabua added
