Iosefo Bele Tabalala Laid to Rest
The late Telecom Fiji Warrior, Iosefo Bele Tabalala was today laid to rest at the Nasinu Cemetary.
His funeral was attended by many who had known or crossed paths with him including the the Fiji Rugby Union, his team mates the Telecom Fiji Warriors, members of the Brothers Rugby Club in Brisbane and the FRU President and honorable Prime Minister, Mr Frank Bainimarama.
The church service was held at the Laucala Bay Parish and Telecom Fiji Warriors Manager, Dan Domoni delivered the team’s eulogy.
“Even though I spent only a few weeks with Sefo, he not only made a big impact in my life but in his team mates lives also. He was always happy and caring and if I may say so, one of the fittest props that we had on the team.”
“It was Sefo that came up with the idea that for the trials for the Rugby World Cup, there should be a game between the Vodafone Flying Fijians and the Telecom Fiji Warriors, that’s how much he believed in the team and knew that his team mates had the quality, strength and talent to represent Fiji at the RWC.”
“We will surely miss him, may you rest in peace Sefo” Domoni said.
In an emotional eulogy, Brothers Rugby Club team mates also echoed Domoni’s sentiments saying that ‘Bells’ as he preferred to be called was a religious and hard working person that had an infectious smile.
“We will never forget the 40 metre try he scored, he really impressed everyone and was called the fastest prop in the Brisbane club competition. Not sure what he was doing on the wing, but he was one of the fittest props and we asked him if he had chosen the right position.”
“Moce Mada Bells, meet you on the other side.”
