FRU invites Under-20 players for national trials

Fiji Rugby Union {FRU} is inviting all interested Under-20 players who wish to be part of the Vodafone Fijian Under-20 trials to send in their expression of interest to Head Coach Iferemi Rawaqa.

High-Performance Unit National Teams Manager Bill Gadolo said they are opening the invitation to players locally and overseas who must be born after 2002. They also must be fully vaccinated.

Gadolo said “These players will be considered for selection into the Vodafone Fijian Under-20 team which will prepare for the Oceania Under-20 tournament scheduled to be held in July at the Sunshine Coast in Australia.”

He added “Those selected will be contacted by Vodafone Fijian Under-20 Head Coach Iferemi Rawaqa and his team.

After we have received the expression of interest from the players we will then organize players in manageable groups for Fitness Testing, screening and later list Trial Teams for final selections.”

He said the overseas-based players who wish to attend the trials will be given a cut-off date where they would be expected to be in the country to be considered for selections

Players are requested to send in their expression of interest before this Saturday the 29th of January 2022. A Fitness Testing list will be released on the first week of February.
