Flying Fijians focus on its game plan

Fiji Airways Flying Fijians coach John McKee will focus on the game plan this week as they prepare to take on Maori All Blacks in the Pacific Series Test match at ANZ Stadium, Suva on Saturday.

McKee said this weeks’ training will be different compared to the first week in camp where they focused basically on fitness and technical side of the game.

He added “This week is really about getting our combinations, team unity and a good clarity of our game towards the weekend.”

“This game is really important so we have one eye on the weekend and one eye looking at towards the Rugby World Cup” McKee revealed.

McKee believes they won’t get everything perfect in the first test match of the year but will definitely do the basics right against the Maori All Blacks.

“Our game won’t be all in place in the first outing of this campaign but we will get key elements of our game right and we believe in putting ourselves in best opportunity to be successful.”

The bond is strong in the Flying Fijians camp as the local and overseas based players have already gelled in together, looking forward to the mouth-watering battle in the weekend.

McKee said “We know when the players are happy they train hard and play well. So its hard work while we on the grass or in the gym but between that it encourages players to relax a little bit and have some fun.”

McKee said it’s also an ideal opportunity for rugby lovers to come and witness World Class players take part in their own backyard.

“We have got some of the top players in Europe here as they have come back to represent their country. You don’t get many opportunities to see them playing here in Fiji so what better game than the Maori All Blacks. Come along and support Flying Fijians towards our Rugby World Cup campaign” he added.
