Fijian Under 18 finish fourth while Fijiana finished 7th at World School Sevens
A tremendous effort from our Fijiana Under18 and Fijian Under18 Sevens at the World School Sevens last weekend which saw Fijiana reaching the plate semifinals while the Fijian Under18 reach the plate final.
Our Fijiana Under18 played a total of 5 matches at the World School Sevens in which they secured 2 victories and lost three games.
It was a pretty good performance from the girls even though they didn’t had enough time to prepare for the tournament, somehow they manage to execute well and reach the Plate semifinals.
Fijiana won their games against National Indigenous Australia Girls 29-7 and Cook Island Girls 26-17, they went down to Maori Girls 27-7, Japan Girls 43- 10 and in the plate semi against BC Elite Canada Girls 35-14.
Our Fijian Under18 manage to reach the Plate final but lost to the Tonga Barbarians.
The boys played six matches whereas they clinch 4 victories and lost 2 games.
They won their first two games against Vanuatu Barbarians Boys 35-0, secured their third match against Samoan Barbarians 33-12, went down to Australian Boys in an intense match 17-10, won the plate semi finals against USA Boys 14-10 and went down to a strong Tonga Barbarians 31-12.
An exceptional performance from Kitione Salawa of Fijian Under18 earned him a position in the 2019 World School Sevens team of the Tournament.
