Fiji Rugby Union Announces Resignation of Vodafone XV Head Coach Mosese Rauluni

The Fiji Rugby Union (FRU) wishes to announce that Mosese Rauluni has resigned as head coach of the Vodafone XV team. This decision comes as Mosese understands that the recent result have not been to the high performance standards he set for the team and opted to return to Australia to be with his family.

“This decision has not been an easy one and I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Fijian Drua and Fiji Rugby Union staff, board and players for all their support over the past year. I wish the team and staff all the best for the road to the RWC” Said Mosese Rauluni

Mosese has been a dedicated leader for the Vodafone XV, guiding the team with passion and commitment. His contributions to the development of Fijian rugby, particularly within the women’s national 15s team, have been invaluable.

Since being announced as the Head Coach of the Fijiana 15’s and Fijian Drua Super W team in late 2023. Rauluni took the Fijian Drua to their 3rd consecutive Super W Grandfinal in 2024 and lead the Fijiana national team to along with qualifying for the RWC 2025, winning the Oceania Championship and Fijiana’s first every victory against Japan earlier this year. He has led the transition of the program through centralization in Nadi which has been an exciting chapter for the players and staff along with the vision of what our pathway future looks like. To see the rise of players such as Atelaite Buna, Salanieta Kineta and Repeka Tove this year has been a credit to the environment he has created with in the team.

“We respect Mosese’s decision and understand the importance of family,” said FRU CEO, Rovereto Nayacalevu. “We are grateful for his hard work and dedication to Fijian rugby. His leadership will be missed by everyone at the FRU and the rugby community.”

The FRU will begin the process of finding a suitable replacement for Mosese as head coach of the Vodafone XV team and Rooster Chicken Fijian Drua. We wish him all the best in his future endeavors and hope he finds joy and fulfillment with his family in Australia.

Rauluni will complete his contract with FRU after the Vodafone Fijiana XV completes their participation at the WXV 3 in Dubai. Their final game is against Spain at 4.30am this Sunday morning and you can watch it live on Sky Pacific.
