Fiji Rugby defers all its competitions

In line with the restrictions announced by Prime Minister in a press conference on
Monday, Fiji Rugby would like to advise fans that it will be deferring all its competition
such as the ongoing Skipper Provincial Cup, INKK Fiji Rugby Farebrother Trophy,
Vodafone Vanua Champion, final leg of Super 7s Series, Women Competition, Kaji
and Deans until further notice.

Chief Executive John O’Connor said the Union has reacted after Prime Minister and
President of FRU announced strict rules such as no sports gathering, schools to close
for next three weeks, no religious gathering plus no non work gathering. We have
advised all our Affiliate Unions, Management of Team and players that we cannot
gather to train or play for the next 2 weeks in respect of the announcement that no non
work gathering is allowed.

Fiji Rugby has also defer its Annual General Meeting which was due to take place on
this Saturday the 24th of April 2021.

He confirmed that Member Unions will be update on the new AGM date and competition
kick-off dates after the Board will make relevant decisions, once restrictions have been
relaxed.

The CEO Fiji Rugby is also urging all Fijians to wear mask once out and about in public,
download the careFIJI app, wash hands for 20 seconds and maintain physical distance
every-time to help Fijian Government in its fight against COVID-19. We are in total
support of the measures announced by Government and have urged our Rugby family
to strictly comply with such requirements
