FIJI RUGBY AWARDS NIGHT TEAMS UP WITH CURE KIDS FIJI
Suva, Fiji (12th January 2017) : The Fiji Rugby Union has teamed up with Cure Kids Fiji to support life saving solutions for two of the biggest health challenges for children in Fiji; Preventing Rheumatic Heart Disease and Ensuring that No Child Dies from a Lack of Oxygen in Fiji.
“Rheumatic Heart Disease in Fiji affects one in thirty children and Fiji has the highest known rates in the world. The disease is a leading cause of death for young people here. So Cure Kids Fiji was the perfect fit for our Charity Partner to the Fiji Rugby Awards Night. This is our first time working with both Cure Kids Fiji and Helping Hands Foundation from New Zealand. We look forward to a long lasting relationship.” Said John O’Connor, CEO of Fiji Rugby Union.
With the Fiji Rugby Awards Night just days away on Saturday, January 14th at Novotel Suva Lami Bay – Entertainment Centre, preparations are full swing ahead to ensure that the inaugural event is a success.
Part of the evening affairs includes an auction of sports memorabilia and other amazing prizes in conjunction with Helping Hands Foundation.
Helping Hands Foundation will lead the auctions both LIVE and silent. There are 15 items up for grabs including a signed All Blacks Jersey and Vodafone Fiji 7s Signed by Fiji’s Gold winning team.

The Fiji Rugby Awards Night is set to kick off at 6pm on Saturday this week at the Novotel Suva Lami Bay – Entertainment Centre. The evening promises to be an amazing night full of entertainment, presentations, games and lucky draw prizes.
Besides the Lifetime Achievement Awards, the People of Fiji are also being given the opportunity to vote for their favorites with the Vodafone Popular Choice Awards. With not much time to go and voting lines closing on Friday, 13th January 2017 at mid-day, people are ramping up the votes to ensure their favorite is crowned.
The Vodafone Popular Choice Awards will be crowning Player of the Year from the Vodafone Flying Fijians, Vodafone Fiji 7s Team, Telecom Fijiana, Domestic competition and also crowning Fiji’s Coach of the year.
Voters can vote for their favorite by texting the code of the 4 nominees from each division to 812 with winners from each division not only being crowned the most popular but also receiving a Samsung S7 phone, compliments of Vodafone.
