Fiji Rugby Chief Executive John O’Connor has this afternoon confirmed that the Fiji Rugby Union Annual General Meeting planned for tomorrow Saturday the 24th of April 2021 has been deferred to further notice.
He confirmed that there is no AGM tomorrow.
Further, he also confirmed that Mr. Conway Beg continues to be the Chairman of Fiji Rugby and that he has not tendered or indicated his intention to resign as rumoured via Social Media.
He highlighted that at the moment the priority is the safety of every Fijian and we are disappointed with the spread of fake news and attempts to distort the good process made by Fiji Rugby.
He also urged all Affiliate Unions, Management and player to remain focused and to strictly comply with COVID-19 restrictions and to stay home and be safe.
The CEO Fiji Rugby is also urging all Fijians to wear mask once out and about in public, download the careFIJI app, wash hands for 20 seconds and maintain physical distance every-time to help Fijian Government in its fight against COVID-19. We are in total support of the measures announced by Government and have urgent our Rugby family to strictly comply with such requirements.
