Fiji Airways 7s for Las Vegas & Vancouver
Fiji Airways National 7s Coach, Gareth Baber has today named a very strong Team that will represent Fiji at the fifth round of the 2018 HSBC World 7s Series in Las Vegas and Vancouver.
The side will travel this week to Las Vegas for a preparation camp before the Las Vegas 7s on 2-4 March followed by the Vancouver 7s on 10-11 March.
“Coach Baber highlighted that he has named the same Team that participated in Sydney and Hamilton. However, Apete Daveta has not recovered from his ankle injury but the Team has been strengthened by the inclusion of Waisea Nacuqu who has recovered from his niggling knee injury. Most of the players played well in the Hamilton 7s and we are looking to them for consistent performance.”
Coach Baber highlighted that the remaining squad members will continue to train under Saiasi Fuli as the Team continues to build up for the Commonwealth Games and the Hong Kong 7s
The Chief Executive Officer, Fiji Rugby Union, Mr John O’Connor reminded the players that they need to perform consistently in every leg as we build up to the Commonwealth. It is up to you to go out there and perform like champions and win both tournaments. We wish you all the best and God Speed in Las Vegas and Vancouver.”
The Las Vegas 7s will be played from the 2nd to the 4th of March at Sam Boyd Stadium in Nevada and the Fiji Airways 7s team have been pooled with Kenya, France and Russia in Pool A.
