Fiji 7s playmaker Teri Tamani Optimistic as Team Gears Up for Vancouver 7s
As the countdown begins for the highly anticipated Vancouver 7s later this month, the Fiji Airways Fijian 7s team is back in full swing at training.
Among the seasoned playmaker Terio Tamani is optimistic as the team prepares towards the Vancouver SVNS.
Tamani is a stalwart in the team having made his debut in 2018 at the Singapore 7s. The Kadavu native has been instrumental in the squad.
Tamani said it was good being back on the field after a well-deserved break following their campaign in Perth.
“Good to be back in training as we focus and prepare for the next leg,” he said.
Tamani said he was grateful for the inclusion of young talent in the team.
“I’m thankful we have the younger players joining in and showing a lot of confidence in the team, players like Ropate Rere.”
“Rere’s confidence on the field was evident which is why he performed well and I am happy to see young players like him rising up to the challenge,” Tamani added.
Tamani also emphasized a few personal improvements that needed to be done before the Vancouver 7s.
“For me personally, I want to work on my defense, there is a need for continuous improvement. And as one of the senior players I understands the importance of working on our own weaknesses,” he said.
The Vancouver 7s is two weeks away, Teri Tamani and the Fiji Airways Fiji 7s team are hoping to make their mark.
