Farebrother Trophy holders ready for the challenge
The Nadi rugby team will set their platform for this year’s Skipper Provincial Cup against Rewa in the first round and doubleheader clash tomorrow at Prince Charles Park.
Aware of what’s coming for them tomorrow, the Farebrother holders have gone through every page of preparation for the important match that could change the outcome of their performances for the rest of the season.
Nadi rugby team Treasurer Jeff Tamata said they are expecting Rewa to bring everything with them on Saturday.
“In the past when Nadi meets Rewa for the Farebrother, it has always been a close encounter and we are expecting them to come out firing this weekend,” said Tamata.
“Rewa is not a new team and they know how important it is to defend and challenge the holy grail of Fiji rugby but we will leave no stones unturned.
“We have been following our off-season program and we believe we are ready for the first challenge and this match is important to us because this is where we will set our platform of defending the Farebrother.
The jetsetters have a strong bond with their fans which will be a boost for them tomorrow.
“I thank the Nadi supporters for helping the players through community work at the Nadi hospital last week and for giving back to the community,” said Tamata.
“With our fans supporting us, we are confident that they will do our part on Saturday and despite the physicality of the match, the traditional ties between Nadi and Rewa off the field will remain strong.”
Nadi hosts Rewa at 3pm tomorrow at Prince Charles Park.
