Extended Squad for Commonwealth Youth Games
The Fiji Rugby Union held trials in the East and West last week to identify potential U18 players for the Youth Commonwealth Games in Samoa.
The first trials were held in the West at the Nadi Airport grounds whereby more than 40 players attended the trials.
The second one in was in Suva with a little over 36 players in attendance.
Following the trials a few players were identified and after discussions are held, 22 players will be named for the extended training squad later this week.
FRU officials also attended the U20 grade competition that was held at the Gaunavou 7s tournament in Savusavu to identify players for the extended squad.
8 teams of U20 players with an average of 15 players per team participated at the Gaunavou 7s.
The Youth Commonwealth games will be held in Samoa in September this year.
