Former Adi Cakobau School sprinter and 2017 Coca Cola Games 100m gold medalist Laisani Moceisawana has shown her interest in rugby.

The Somosomo Taveuni lass said she was motivated after Fijiana 7s won the bronze medal at the Tokyo Olympics.
“Rugby wasn’t part of my plans during school but after the Olympics, I have learnt to love the sport and I know I can be part of the team to any tournament in the future,” said Moceisawana.
The 23-year-old has set her goals and aims to achieve her aim by becoming an Olympian.
“It was tough to make it to the Olympic Games through athletics because of the time an athlete is required to achieve certain qualification time in-order to participate at the Games,” she added.
“But for rugby, the Bronze medal victory in the Olympics has motivated me and many young girls to follow rugby and it can also provide opportunities like travelling overseas and representing Fiji in the World Sevens Series and the Olympics.
“I believe I have the fitness required but I have to groom my basics skills and my goal is to be part of the Fijiana team to the Series next year.
Moceisawana has encouraged young girls to never stop trying for something they want to achieve.
“Believe in yourself and keep trying until you have reach your goal,” she said.
