Catch up with Fiji Airways Fijiana captain Sereima Leweniqila
How you’ve been this past few weeks?
Just been concentrating on work at Westpac, catching up because most of the time I am away or have been always so focused on rugby, making sure I hit my daily targets (meaning productivity). Other than that I have been good and just enjoying spending more time with the family.
How you managing to stay active while during this hard time?
Its a bit of a struggle trying to maintain fitness as I dont work so well when I train on my own. I have stayed in touch with my group of friends and we are trying and help each other by giving workouts, using apps just body weight exercise. Especially our Naitasiri women’s group, our trainer gives out this challenges every week and training program. I do it when I can or force my sisters to join me so that I feel more like a team when there are more.
Some new things you’ve been trying out during this lockdown?
I have been catching up on my movies, debates and conversation with my dad in regards to spiritual life. just chatting and talking with the family, something I’m able to do more now, being doing a bit of spring cleaning at home and I’m a-bit excited about starting home gardening soon – so maybe after lockdown & restrictions have lifted will call some of my rugby friends who are more of an expert on this.
What do you usually do to keep you entertain?
The daily mail at the moment, every day or when I’m free, I would log on at work just to have a few read. It has some very interesting reports. As for book nothing beats the bible for me at this moment great time to reflect on oneself 🙂
Favourite Read? Any book you’re enjoying right now?
I have been on a Harry Porter marathon and marvel as well – as for series Netflix got a few of my favorites which I’m watching at the same-time – it’s hard to choose
Movies or series you’re binge watching?
How does it feel to be away from the field and your teammates?
Feels different to be away my rugby sister. You get to miss those moments, your so use to seeing them every once in a while and getting together, training, complaining, having a good feast after the workout or just plain team bonding. Same time I think it’s a good timeout for some of us, I think when they get back they will be more hungry and appreciative that they get to play again.
First thing you’ll do when all this is over?
I will have a big feast with my friend – just being grateful and then I will get back to training.
