Ryan says that while they were excited to be part of the Fiji International, the boys still needed to maintain their rugby fitness.

The Fiji Rugby Union and Fiji International recently joined forces to promote both Golf and Rugby, to increase awareness of both sports and to boost interest.

He added that both sports were alike as they targeted very similar markets of sports fans.

“Golf and Rugby go hand in hand as a sport as they target a very similar market of sports fans so I think this cooperation between the Fiji International and the Fiji Rugby Union is a great thing for both sports,” he said.

Following a hearty breakfast, the trio made their way to the Natadola Bay Championship Golf Club’s driving range where they practiced alongside the Fiji Police Commissioner Ben Groenewald and under the watchful eyes of the Fiji Golf Coach, Graeme Bell.

Bell said that even though, Kolinisau and Mulevoro had only been playing for a couple of weeks, he was impressed with their progress.

“The boys are doing well seeing that they only started three weeks ago.  I am impressed that they have picked up very quickly on golf.”

Just a few metres away, National Hero Vijay Singh was among the world’s best golfers practicing on the driving range allocated for the Pros.
