Baber names final squad for Los Angeles 7s
Fiji Airways Fijian 7s will be looking to go back-to-back at the Los Angeles 7s after claiming their first title of the 2019/2020 HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series in Sydney earlier this month.
Coach Gareth Baber has retained all his players who were part of the Hamilton and Sydney leg.
Police 7s winger, Suliano Volivoli is the 13th man while Apenisa Cakaubalavu has been rested.
Baber said “Volivoli has shown all the attributes of the team values.
He has great work ethics and fitness level.”
Baber added “All 12 players have good experience and provide a number of threats.”
“We know the tournament will be tough and therefore we need to be very smart on how we approach our opponents from the very first game” said Baber.
He said “We have had some good sessions where we have worked on a few areas which needed to be polished before the tournament.”
The Fiji Airways Fijian 7s takes on an invitational South Korea 7s team in their first pool match tomorrow at 6.51am (FJT), then faces France at 9.47am (FJT) and battles it out against Argentina at 1.05pm (FJT) at the Dignity Health Sports Park.
