Male confirmed Rooster Chicken Fijiana Drua Head Coach
Former Flying Fijian player and coach, Inoke Male has been named the Head Coach of the Rooster Chicken Fijiana Drua.
Fiji Rugby Union Board Director Mere Rakoroi while making the announcement said Male fits well for the job as he has been on the ground acting as Head Coach and assisting the team to prepare for their Super W title defense from next month.
Male has been with the Fijiana Drua since they started their maiden journey last year and he was also part of the Fijiana coaching panel for the Rugby World Cup in New Zealand.
Director Rakoroi said “We had quite a few local and overseas coaches who applied for the job and after going through the process the FRU Board decided to give Male the responsibility of taking the top job for women’s rugby.
“He has assembled the team and the girls are in camp since starting of this year. I believe after this formal announcement; it will give Male more grounds to work on preparing an excellent team for Super W Championship” she said.
Coach Male thanked the FRU Board and the Acting CEO Tevita Tuiloa for trusting him for this job and said he is looking forward to this season which is going to be a tough one for all participating teams.
Male said “Our preparation for the Super W is going as planned. Despite losing some of the key players to overseas cubs we have managed to gather a new set of players who have gelled in well and are raring to represent Rooster Chicken Fijiana Drua” said Male.
With the position of Head Coach cemented, Male is expected to name his set of assistant coaches and the Fijiana Drua management soon.
