• Alisi Galo – Suva Womens
• Alfreda Fisher – Suva Womens
• Adi Salaseini Railumu – Suva Womens
• Ivamere Nabura – Suva Womens.
This selection is a testament to the success and impact of local competitions like the ANZ Marama Cup, which continues to provide a strong platform for developing talent in women’s rugby.
Supported by ANZ Bank of Fiji, these grassroots programs are crucial in nurturing the next generation of rugby stars.
Fiji Rugby High Performance Women’s Program Coach Mike Legge said he was proud of the selection.
“It’s a very special moment for the HPU Women’s Program, to have these new girls selected into the Fijiana squad for the upcoming tour. Currently, we have 12 players from our High-Performance group in that squad.”
“The new ones being picked demonstrates not just their resilience but also their unwavering commitment and dedication to their dream. The dream of every HPU girl is to don the Fijiana jersey and make the Fijiana Drua. Their selection shows that the pathway is there for our local players, especially those in the ANZ Marama Cup.”
Coach Mike also extended his gratitude to Coach Mosese Rauluni for his trust in these players.
“We are confident that they will give their best on the international stage. We will continue to support and prepare our girls for national duties, ensuring that they are ready for every challenge.”
The Fiji Rugby Union would like to thank ANZ Fiji for their continued investment in women’s grassroots rugby, a partnership that is paving the way for the future of the Vodafone Fijiana XV.
