2025 Rugby World Cup: Vodafone Fijiana in Pool B
The stage is set for an exciting Women’s Rugby World Cup in England in 2025 with four draws comprising top seeded countries who will be out to cement their name in the history books.
The Vodafone Fijiana XV have been placed in Pool B alongside Canada, Scotland and Wales with the full draw schedule to be announced soon. The event will showcase an exciting lineup of matches that will take place from September 7 to October 28, 2025.
Alana Thomas, FRU Women’s High Performance Unit Manager, expressed her anticipation Women’s Rugby World Cup. “Being drawn in such a competitive pool is a testament to the growth of women’s rugby in Fiji. We are eager to take on the challenge and represent our nation with honor,” Thomas said.
“Vodafone Fijiana XV are excited that the pool draw has been completed and we now know who we will be facing in England next August. This RWC is anticipated to be a game changer for the Women’s game”
“We have come off the back of a northern tour where we played Scotland in our first tour match and whilst the result was not what we were hoping for if has provided us with exposure to the Six Nations style of rugby. The other benefit of a northern tour is to provide us with an opportunity to travel across to the other side of the world, experience the different weather and touring for a long period, all of which can impact performance,” Thomas added.
The Vodafone Fijiana XV have now settled back into country after their outing in the WXV3 competition in Dubai and completed their exit review, will now take a break before reconvening in November to commence training.
“I want to take this opportunity to thank the players and staff for the season as it was the biggest in the history of Fijiana XV with 11 test matches that saw the team qualify for the RWC, win the Oceania Championship, and beat Japan for the first time,” Thomas said.
