FIJI RAKAVI FOOTBALL UNION LIMITED VACANCY

The Fiji Rakavi Football Union Limited (‘FRFU’) under the Fiji Rakavi Football Union Limited (‘FRFU’), is based in the Nation’s capital of Suva and administers the sport of Rugby Union over the nation’s 14 provinces. The major responsibility of FRFU is to continuously develop and improve processes by enabling pathways from “grass root” level to elite, professional level, and national level. FRFU endeavors to enhance players’ and officials’ competencies locally and internationally.

An exciting opportunity exists within the FRFU, and we are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic, agile, and self-motivated person for the following position:

  1. Senior Finance Officer x 1
     Principal Accountabilities:
  • Understand the organization’s accounting system, codes, and their application.
  • Ensure data entry is done in Xero in a timely manner.
  • Reconcile local Payables with statements before disbursement.
  • Prepare, disburse, and settle overseas Vendors.
  • Invoice all Receivables and do collections in a timely manner as per contracts.
  • Ensure all sponsor contracts are kept up to date and recorded in finance records promptly.
  • Check Xero for accuracy and correctness of transactions posted.
  • Complete month end bank reconciliations report within deadlines.
  • Ensure timely and accurate cash disbursement for competitions.
  • Registering and updating vendor/supplier information in Xero regularly.
  • Allocate competition expenditures to correct competitions and post accordingly.
  • Do ad hoc reports

 

       Key Skills and Personal Attributes:

  • A Degree in Accounting or equivalent.
  • 2-3 years of professional experience, Knowledge of accounting principles used by NGOs.
  • Computer/software literacy, including but not limited to cloud-based accounting systems, preferably Xero or similar.
  • Excellent English written and oral communication skills.
  • Absolute integrity and trustworthiness
  • High degree of attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities and an ability to meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge and understanding of regulatory, contractual, legal, and financial compliance requirements
  • Able to work in a small team and support team members.
  • Problem solving skills would be welcomed.
  1. Finance Officer x 2

      Principal Accountabilities:

  • Maintain and regularly update the fixed asset register.
  • Record all addition and disposal of FA and prepare monthly journals for recording.
  • Ensure all insurance and OHS compliance requirements are met.
  • Work with relevant stakeholders to coordinate ticket sales, management, and reconciliation for
  • Reconcile team acquittals and prepare journals.
  • Uploading documents to Xero and processing payments
  • Liaise with other departments to support event preparation, specifically in terms of obtaining cost estimates and issuing timely Purchase Orders (POs).
  • Support other functions of the finance department as required.
  • Perform other duties as

 

Experience and Knowledge for the Role:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting and/or Financial Management.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a similar
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize
  • Proficient in use of financial software and reconciliations
  • Excellent record-keeping skills with attention to
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines and work weekends.
  • Be a team player.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for liaising with various departments and
  • Valid driver’s license
